The BJP’s much-hyped “Four Engine” governments have completely failed to protect Delhi from waterlogging. A brief rain on Tuesday morning was enough to drown the capital again. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders including national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj, Leader of Opposition Atishi, and other senior leaders shared videos on social media showing severe waterlogging across Delhi, from posh areas to narrow lanes.

AAP said that even a short spell of rain leaves Delhi waterlogged and this has become the everyday story under BJP rule. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma had claimed that his government had made proper arrangements for water drainage—so why is Delhi still drowning?

Kejriwal shared a video of severe flooding on the roads of Connaught Place on X (formerly Twitter), slamming the BJP's "Four Engine" government. He said, “When the heart of Delhi, Connaught Place, is in this condition, it's not hard to imagine how bad the rest of Delhi must be. Roads have turned into ponds after just 10 minutes of rain. In just five months, where has BJP brought Delhi? Is this the speed of the Four Engine government?”

AAP Leaders Target BJP with Sarcasm Over Waterlogging

Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj mocked Minister Parvesh Verma for constantly highlighting Minto Bridge. He said, “I request Parvesh Verma to declare Minto Bridge as a separate state. Let him be its minister, Rekha Gupta its CM, and LG the state's LG. They can even present a separate ‘Minto Bridge State Budget’.”

He continued, “In 2022, the Arvind Kejriwal government fixed the Minto Bridge issue with suction pumps. But the BJP keeps circling back to it like it’s a joke. Connaught Place is flooded. The roads outside the homes of Parvesh Verma and Kapil Mishra are underwater. ITO is completely submerged. And this, when the monsoon is weak—9 out of 10 Delhi districts are experiencing below-average rainfall. Yet look at the situation.”

Bharadwaj added, “Minister Parvesh Verma once boasted of having 400 suspension letters ready—where are they now? No one was suspended. It’s all a show. BJP's expertise lies in lies, loud announcements, and empty promises. The result is that all of Delhi is drowning today. The BJP can’t claim AAP is lying—people were stuck in traffic for hours and saw for themselves how BJP’s Four Engine system is failing.”

He posted several videos on X showing waterlogged roads and alleys across Delhi. Referring to ITO, he said, “This is ITO, where on July 9, LG and PWD Minister came to inspect drainage work. They were congratulating each other for their ‘good work’. Today again, as the area floods, please accept my congratulations too.”

Bharadwaj also posted videos from Connaught Place and the Tibetan Market near Janpath Road, just 200 meters from Minister Parvesh Verma’s house, showing severe flooding and criticizing the BJP government’s failure.

Atishi, Bharadwaj Question Silence of BJP Leaders as Delhi Drowns

Bharadwaj mocked the central government as well, sharing a video from the rain-flooded gallery of RML Hospital, saying, “This is the prestigious RML Hospital run by the central government. The area is completely under their control. It’s been 11 years. How much more time do they need?”

He also referred to the tragic incident in Civil Lines where a wall collapsed, killing two and injuring several. “Not long ago, LG was busy pointing fingers at the Delhi government, making videos, tweeting, and writing letters. Today, a wall collapsed right outside Raj Bhavan, and people died—yet the LG hasn’t even visited. No tweet, no photo, no letter. Has Delhi’s safety stopped mattering to him?”

Meanwhile, AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition Atishi strongly criticized the BJP government over the heavy waterlogging after Tuesday morning’s brief rain. Sharing several videos online, she said, “This is the state of Delhi after just 10 minutes of rain. This is the miracle of the Four Engine government. Where is PWD Minister Parvesh Verma? What is CM Rekha Gupta doing?”

She said that even the roads near the homes of LG VK Saxena and CM Rekha Gupta in Civil Lines were submerged. Atishi shared videos from Panchkuian Road, Kamla Nagar Market, Sadar Bazaar, Bhajanpura, in front of Ambedkar Stadium near Delhi Gate, Pragati Maidan, Moti Bagh, Deoli, Patel Nagar, Feroz Shah Road, NDMC roads, Kinari Bazaar in Chandni Chowk, Zakheera underpass, and even roads in front of MP residences in New Delhi. She used these to attack the BJP for its complete failure in flood management.
